As Hurricane Milton victims continue to try to recover from its devastation, life is mostly getting back to normal in Northeast Florida.
Evacuation orders have been lifted in both Nassau and St.
Johns counties, and Duval County didn't require such measures. Some flooding, fallen trees and damaged homes were reported, but the area escaped the brunt of the storm just a two weeks after Hurricane Helene.
Milton made landfall about 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday as a Category 3 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph near Siesta Key in Sarasota County, according to the Governor's Office. The storm moved quickly across Central Florida overnight, producing significant flooding and damaging winds near its path.
